What You Can Expect From a Consulting Session
1) Telephone coaching sessions last a full hour. I will have read and evaluated the manuscript before the call and will be ready to roll up my sleeves and get into the trenches with you.
2) During the call I will ask some questions which will be fun to answer, and some which will be harder to answer. I'll discuss your manuscript with you, and we'll have a conversation about what you can do to help make your manuscript better. Depending on your manuscript, we'll talk things like finding your story, developing your plot, understanding your characters or refining your language.
3) I’ll be supportive, but I will also be completely honest with you. Although you might not always like what I say, at the end of the call I guarantee you’ll have a better sense of what you need to do in order to improve your manuscript.

If we make the decision to work together I will review your manuscript and offer you a one hour consultation/critique on it. I will·
- Show you the commercial possibilities that your book has for a sale (or if it doesn’t).
- Further help to develop your skills, refine your writing craft:
- Help accelerate your learning curve and support you through out your process
- Help you master the different and very important elements that goes into a compelling children’s picture book. Allow you to pick my brain and answer any questions you have.
- Help mold your characters, brainstorm solution, refine plots.
You’ll really be amazed by what you can get in an hour. I promise after our consultation you will have a more publishable product, understand what you have to do (or not do) to get your manuscript up to submission status,and beyond that lead you to your sale. The cost of a consultation with me is $200 an hour. I assure you it will be a well spent $200. Telephone consulting sessions last a full hour. I will have read and evaluated your manuscript before the call and will be ready to roll up my sleeves and get in the trenches with you. You need to be willing to listen, to take direction and implement the suggestions I give you. We all have egos… but for you to grow and prosper you will have to be open to “loving” criticism. For the money you’re paying me I will tell what you HAVE to hear, not what you want to hear. But I promise I’ll be gentle. And respectful.
How To Reserve Your Time With Me Now
In order to reserve an appointment, please fill out the form below. E-mail it to me along with your manuscript. Please submit your manuscript via e-mail in a Word document or a Word compatible document. The manuscript should be double spaced and in a legible type face. It should be 2,500 words or less.
A non-refundable $25 deposit is required to reserve a place in my schedule. The deposit is credited toward the cost of the coaching session. The balance is due when we schedule the appointment. I will review the manuscript and I will contact you to make an appointment. The balance of the fee is due when the appointment is confirmed.

If we decide to work together here are some things you should know:
One hour critique and coaching session of a picture book manuscript by phone ---- $200
Critique and coaching session of picture book manuscript with illustrations ----$250
Subsequent coaching/critique session (for previously evaluated manuscript) manuscript only ----$100 for ½ hour
Subsequent coaching/critique session (for previously evaluated manuscript) manuscript with illustrations ----$125 for ½ hour
